Aslı Özyürek

Aslı Özyürek is a Director of the Multimodal Language Department of Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics and a Professor at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior and an affiliated researcher at Center for Languages Studies at Radboud University. As a linguist and cognitive scientist she investigates cognitive and social foundations of human language from a multimodal and cross-linguistic perspective. She is also dedicated to bridging the gap between science, technology, society and education and making scientific practices inclusive and available for people with diverse backgrounds.

She is a member of MEDAL’s Steering Committee and head of the work package responsible for Mobility. In the GoLD MEDAL research project, she works on the multimodal expression of negation in Turkish and Estonian.
