Launch of the Centre for Multilingualism at the University of Tartu
The Institute of Estonian and General Linguistics at the University of Tartu is establishing a Centre for Multilingualism on the 4th of April to advance research and public engagement in multilingualism. To mark the opening, the Centre is hosting a workshop on Public Engagement in Bilingualism and a roundtable discussion, "Kodukeele toetus". The event will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Main Building of the University of Tartu. The workshop will be followed by a roundtable discussion on supporting home language acquisition in Estonia, particularly in the context of ongoing education system reforms. The discussion will be held in Estonian and will also be broadcast online.
