In this soft skills workshop with Rob Thompson, you will learn how to gain the quiet confidence you need to eliminate any impostor syndrome you might have. This will help you succeed in your PhD and beyond without moving into arrogance. And because career success doesn’t come in isolation, this workshop will teach you how to easily build a beneficial network for conferences and collaborations.
The workshop draws on the personal experience of all the participants as well as that of the trainer. Since the workshop will be informal, interactive and flexible and there will be room to bring forward your ideas on topics you want to have covered.
Themes that will be covered include: dealing with impostor syndrome, handling difficult interactions, building an effective network and determining the best career moves for you. The workshop will be divided in roughly two main themes: networking & self-confidence, structured as follows:

About the instructor
The trainer, Rob Thompson, has over 15 years’ experience helping groups to improve their skills and confidence. He is a TEDx speaker and leads workshops in many of Europe’s top academic institutes.
