MEDAL Events Outreach: Weekend van de Wetenschap

Outreach: Weekend van de Wetenschap

Weekend van de Wetenschap ('Science Weekend') is a national event for science education and outreach in the Netherlands that will take place on October 4th and 5th.

In Nijmegen, the Donders CityLab-initiated Brain Museum will host a wide array of brain- and cognition-related games for children from ages 8 to 14. MEDAL will be represented in the Brain Museum by coordinator Izabela Jordanoska, who will show how online language resources can be used for a fun family activity! Based on maps from the World Atlas of Language Structures, we will play a game about how (words for) tea travelled across the world, and a game about the different word order options languages have when it comes to the order of the subject, object, and verb (and why the subject always seems to want to go first...).

So, if you are in Nijmegen, bring yourself or your kids to the Brain Museum on October 4th!

When? October 4th between 12:00 and 17:00

Where? Brein Museum in de Latijnse School, Sint Stevenskerkhof 2, in Nijmegen
