Radboud University

Radboud University is the best wide-scope traditional university in the Netherlands, situated on a green campus south of the Nijmegen city centre.

Impact

It specialises in multimodality: it has explicitly opted for well-established, broadly defined disciplines and subsequent collaboration between them in order to tackle the complex challenges of today’s society.  More information can be found in Radboud University’s latest strategy, ‘A Significant Impact’. This strategy was developed with the input of many staff members and students and will form the basis for the university departments’ annual plans in the coming years. In order to give an impetus to specific themes within the strategy, we work with various strategic themes and initiatives that create additional stimuli and capacity for change.

The Donders Centres

Judith Holler, the MEDAL partner at Radboud, is connected to the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour. This Institute is located at the Nijmegen Campus and maintains strong ties with the MPI. The Donders Institute is a research centre devoted to understanding human cognition and behaviour in health and disease. Research at the Donders Institute is divided into several themes, including the theme Language and Communication, which aims to understand the complexity of human language faculty and its development at the behavioural, cognitive, and neural levels in healthy individuals as well as in populations with dysfunction in linguistic and communication skills.
